Chikamagluru(Sep09-19-20): B'lr-Chl'r-250km


Chikamagaluru: cloudy, fogs, rainy, misty; Nice to be in such a fantastic place where you can drive, walk and talk with the clouds.
Chikamagaluru (means town of the younger daughter in Kannada) is situated in south western part of Karnataka and surrounded by the Baba Budangiri hills and dense forests. It is 250 km from Bangalore.
Coffee is the major commercial crop of Chikmagalur and other crops are crops are pepper, cashew, etc. Several minerals are found in the district such as iron, magnetite, granite etc.,

The chikmagalur district is full of scenic surprises hills, valleys, streams and snow-white coffee blossoms.

Places visited:Mullayanagiri, Baba Budan Giri, Kemmanagundi


Mullayanagiri is the tallest mountain in Karnataka and is 12 Kms away from Chikmagalur. Its 1930m high and is situated in Chikamagaluru district. It is the highest peak between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris (mountains)
There is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva atop the mountain. A and a Nandi statue are at walk able from the temple. The mountain belongs to the Bababudangiri hill range, It is a trekkers paradise and often clubbed with Bababudangiri for trekking.








Way back to Baba Budan Giri:unfortunately the temple was closed due to renovation and we headed towards Manikyadhara
