Birding at Mysore - Varuna lake

Varuna Lake:

This lake is a famous spot for water sports during Dasara festival in Mysore. Heard that Mysore Dewan Sir M.Visweswaraiah used to visit this lake very often and praised the lake.

The lake which nested various species of rare birds was dying, due to this sport which is not seen by any of them which is very sad.

This is situated near Mysore, just on the way to T Narsipura.
